Terms of Service

Effective: June 2026

TL;DR:

  • The service is for parents 18+. The parent is responsible for how it's used at home.
  • A special price for the first month, then a monthly or yearly subscription, your choice. The exact price, in your local currency, is shown before you pay.
  • Cancel in one click, anytime. No additional charges after cancellation.
  • Yoon is a virtual in-app currency. The parent sets the monetary value.
  • The service is provided "as is". We make reasonable effort but don't guarantee continuous uptime.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By signing up for Yooniz and using the app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Use of the service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

2. Who May Sign Up

  • Sign-up is allowed only to parents or guardians aged 18 and over.
  • The parent is the account owner and is responsible for adding family members, defining tasks, approving purchases, and setting the value of Yoon.
  • Children may not sign up on their own. They use an account created for them by the parent.
  • Signing up with false details, an alias, or another person's identity is prohibited.

3. Service Description

Yooniz is a SaaS app that lets parents manage family routines at home: tasks, reminders, rewards in virtual currency (Yoon), screen time, purchases, savings goals for kids, and financial education.

The service is available as a website at yooniz.com and as iOS and Android apps.

4. Pricing and Billing

4.1 Pricing

  • First month: at a special price, as shown on the checkout page before you pay.
  • After the first month: a monthly or yearly subscription, your choice, at the price shown on the checkout page, in your local currency. The yearly subscription costs less than paying monthly for a year.
  • Stripe displays the price in your local currency and charges your card accordingly.

4.2 Auto-renewal

The subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing period (month or year), until canceled.

4.3 Price changes

Future price changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Existing subscribers will continue to pay the price they committed to until the end of the current billing period.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

5.1 Cancellation

  • You may cancel anytime from your account settings or by contacting support.
  • Cancellation is effective immediately. No further charge will be made.
  • You may continue to use the service until the end of the billing period you've already paid for.

5.2 Refunds

In accordance with applicable consumer-protection laws:

  • Private customers are entitled to cancel a transaction within 14 days of sign-up, as long as the service hasn't been materially used.
  • After 14 days, charges already made are not refunded, but no new charge will be made.
  • In case of a duplicate charge or system error, we refund in full.

6. Yoon and Real Money

  • Yoon is a virtual in-app currency. It is not legal tender and cannot be exchanged for money with us.
  • The parent sets the monetary value of each Yoon.
  • Yooniz does not transfer real money between parent and child. It only records and displays the calculation.
  • The physical movement of money is the parent's responsibility.
  • We do not grant credit, run a kid's bank account, or operate a payment service.

7. Permitted Use

Use of the service is limited to its purposes: family task management, rewards, and financial education. The following is prohibited:

  • Attempting to hack, copy code, run bots, or scan the system.
  • Bypassing security protections or impersonating another user.
  • Uploading offensive, illegal, or copyright-infringing content.
  • Using the service to harm a child, harass, or for non-family/educational purposes.
  • Selling, transferring, or renting the account to another party.
  • Using the service for commercial activity without prior written consent.

8. Parent Responsibility

The parent (account owner) is responsible for defining age-appropriate tasks, setting reasonable Yoon values, deciding which activities are rewarded, and supervising the child's use of the app.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights in the app, website, design, code, logo, and content (except content you've entered) belong to Yooniz. Copying, duplicating, translating, reverse-engineering, or creating derivative products without written approval is prohibited.

10. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make reasonable effort to ensure availability, security, and proper operation, but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or fully break-in-proof service.

Our liability, where applicable, is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the event that caused the damage. In no case will we be liable for indirect, consequential, lost-income, or data-loss damages.

These limitations don't apply where prohibited by law (e.g., bodily injury or gross negligence).

11. Suspension and Termination

Yooniz may suspend or close an account in case of terms violations, fraud suspicion, non-payment, or activity that may harm other users. In case of unjustified termination on our side, we'll refund the pro-rata portion of the charge.

The parent may request termination and account deletion at any time.

12. Changes to Terms

Yooniz may update these terms from time to time. Material updates will be posted on the site and emailed to you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of the operator's place of residence. Exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute lies with the competent courts there.
